Just FYI: Miatas have the exact same problem with their plastic radiator end tanks. At 100k, it would not surprise me to see a non-original radiator on a Miata.

And I had the fan explode on my Toyota pickup. The difference there is that it's cool to have a fan shrapnel hole in your hood on an old Toyota pickup.

I'll probably do the water pump on my M5 this summer ($350, sigh) and I might look into building a shroud for a couple of electric fans at the same time. Just because I like electric fans.

Sign up on Bimmerforums and get quotes from the vendors. When I did my cooling system refresh on my E36, I saved an additional 20% or so off the prices on Bimmerzone.com by PM'ing them on the forum. Turner Motorsports and bimmerparts.com were two other vendors that had similar deals available via the forums.

I don't know about the rest of you, but any part which is a "replace every 60k - 80k" part means I'll have to replace it once - maybe. How long do you keep your cars?

i bought my probe GT with 142k on the odo and today it hit 222k, and it's going to last me another year while i save for the E39.

I do about 100K a year and keep them until they are totally worn out
