I am replacing my fuel, pump in the 128i, and all is going well except this connector.  Any ideas how to get it off?  Everything I read says turn sideways and squeeze tabs, but there are no tabs.  Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics.

You need to do something with the green doodad.  Squeeze, pull out, break...  Something.

I've tried most of those other than breaking it, I was hoping there was a trick to getting it to release.

I wonder if it's one of those captive clips, almost like traditional Bosch sensor or fuel injector connectors have, but this time in plastic. Have you tried two small screwdrivers in the little gaps and pushing outward simultaneously?

EDIT: Pelican says you push the green tab inward and hold as you lift the connector.

I haven't seen pushing it in, I will try that tonight and see if it works!  Hopefully that works, if I told you how much time I have spent trying to get this to release I'm sure I'd have to give all of my tools away and get a Prius.  surprise

Pelican is good with a lot of "how-to" information.

Glad to hear it. I'm hoping my 128i doesn't demand the same attention any time soon - currently waiting on two replacement wheel speed sensors - but if (when?) it happens it's nice to know what works.
