I'm looking for a way to make a spark plug continually fire... able to be powered off a car charging system, and be flicked on and off via a switch.

I imagine something like this exists for flamethrower setups... (Which is relevant) But i don't need the extra fuel stuff. Just the "buzz box" portion.

Am i using the right term? Anyone have experience with this? Or can point to a tutorial on how to make one using modern stuff? (Ergo, no Model T parts)

Antique ford buzz coil should fit the bill. Check E-Bay.

Would those work on a 12v signal on a toggle switch?

Those things look so foreign to me, i don't even know how or what to use with it....

This is what i'm looking for? That thing makes my brain hurt.

Lots of ways to do that. How simple or complicated do you want to go? You basically just need an ignition coil, some points, a capacitor across the points, something to trigger the points like a little cam on a little electric motor and 12V. Or use a relay and a 555 timer, which you could control with your switch. Google up 555 timer relay circuit. Everything except the ignition coil is at crap shack.

My thoughts were solid state relay and a 555 timer

In gradschool I needed to create a continuous arc though a self made spark plug (titanium rod through a ceramic sleeve into an aluminum supersonic windtunnel. I recall using a HUGE Accel or MSD high frequency ignition coil, the coil was square but about 3 times larger than a stock coil in any car. we hooked it to a high frequency generator and essentially had it firing at max frequency which was so fast, it really never 'stopped' for all intents and purposes...

For shenanigans. My car runs rich enough between shifts that it will on occasion blow some pretty big fireballs.

I'd like to be able to make it blow fireballs EVERY shift if i do so desire.

Yeah, it's juvenile and stupid. But.... FIRE!!!! OUT OF MY CAR!!!!

    No flamethrower kit required.

I swear Ben, if you want to set the MX-Fail on fire, bring it by the house and I'll fire up the torches.....
