Cadillac's new CT4-V is.... disappointing

The CT4 is the new "small" Cadillac sedan.  It replaces the ATS.  The ATS-V featured a twin turbo V6 making 464 horsepower!... the all new CT4 V ??  A 2.7 litre 4 banger making 320 horsepower.    (cue Price is Right wah wah wah waaaah losing horn).

Like on one hand, a 320 HP RWD small sedan should be kind of cool, but it just feels like such a disrespect to the "V" name.  GM didn't have the patience to build and respect the V badge, while I thought even diluting via the "V-Sport" models before was a mistake... this is just disrespectful.  

That wheel gap.  Ugh.

The front grill looks like they took the Traverse and tried to make it look like a Chrysler 300.

The CT5-V, which is the CTS-V's replacement, is even worse. It comes with a 3.0L TT V6 that makes 355hp and 400lb-ft of torque. That's only 20hp more than the old naturally-aspirated V6 in the regular CTS. That'll make people forget all about the 400hp LS6s, 556hp LSAs and 640hp LT4s of yore.

Man, they are mailing it in with this one, huh?

The CT5-V is also down over 100hp to 355. Again, that's awesome for a regular midsized sedan, but not good enough for a V car IMHO.

Especially not one that was designed for truck use. And already has a reputation of being less powerful than a V8 and getting worse fuel mileage.

Well, obviously we were wrong. My bad.

I see this as American manufacturers pretty much abandoning the luxury sport sedan segment and focusing on trucks and EVs with pony cars to keep the enthusiasts happy. 

I find it fascinating that anyone cares, even a little bit, what Cadillac does.  They made a token effort to be relevant to someone other than Geezers, and discovered than the Geezer profit was removed by the differential warranty claims from people with hair.

Its a Chevrolet with too many useless features.

Any AWD 2019 Volvo makes 315 hp / 295 ft-lbs.  Minimum.

I actually really like this car.  

The article also says there are more v offerings in the pipeline and alludes to more traditional v type vehicles and performance.

1982-only had the L46 88hp carbureted 1.8L I4 and then in 1983 it gained a fuel-injected 2.0L inline-4 that made 2 less horsepower than the 1.8L. Because 1980s GM

From the all-knowing Wikipedia because I wasn't totally sure myself:

For 1982, the Cimarron was equipped with a 1.8 L four-cylinder engine, producing 88 hp (66 kW) (the first four-cylinder Cadillac since 1914 and the first engine below 2.0 L displacement since 1908). For 1983, the engine was enlarged to 2.0 L and given fuel injection, though engine tuning would drop peak output to 86 hp (64 kW). For 1985, a 2.8 L V6 (shared with the Chevrolet Cavalier and Oldsmobile Firenza) was added as an option, producing 130 hp (97 kW); for 1987, the V6 became standard. The four-cylinder engines were paired with a 4-speed manual (later a 5-speed), with a 3-speed automatic as an option; the 3-speed automatic was the sole transmission with the V6.
