I was doing front brakes on the wife's 02 Malibu when I snaped one of the caliper sliders off in the bracket. The pin was frozen and when I loosened the caliper bolt the threaded part snaped off leaving the pin in the bracket. Any thoughts on removing the pin?

I would just go to a yard and get a new (used) one.. I did that with my old Hyundai Tiburon. The sliders corroded and would not let the caliper move.. $35 got me a caliper and slider

Some rebuilt calipers come with the bracket and pins.

I'm going to get a bracket from the junkyard tomorrow after I drop the wife off, before the new dishwasher comes. I was hoping to fix it today but noone has the pins in stock even if I got this bracket apart.

It gets everywhere, i greased the sliders and made sure the rubber boots were on tight every time I did the brakes and I still had this freeze up

Anti seize. The stuff works wonders. The grey stuff that gets everywhere. I used a crap ton on my miata re-body.

He put it everywhere except on the rattling part under the dash.

commercial brake suppliers should have tons of caliper bracket slide pins. I believe loctite makes some of the best brake lube out there. A purple lube for metal to metal contact and a green lube for metal to rubber. Worked great for me so far and available at my local CSK in packets which will do an entire vehicle. Cerem-lube and syl-glide are a pretty good combination too. Some lubricants cant handle the conditions and will actually cake up making the slide pins stick worse than no lube at all.

Junkyard brackets need to be absolutely rust free in the slide pin hole or you aren't actually saving money.

u pull it was closed because it might rain, but i was able to get one from another yard. $40 but it looks like it was installed right before the car came in, there's hardly an surface rust on it and it's heavily greased.
