The point, valve adjustment is what was part of a tune up. Done every few thousand miles along with an oil change and cleaning of the inlet screen. . Oh, lets not forget retorqueing the heads.
In our Super Modified ice racing class we have turbo charged Type 1 in a Buggy. It gives the V8 cars fits.

The easy fix is to run a '69 or later car with the IRS transaxel. The difficult fix is to convert to IRS.
