My old 1.5 ton floor jack doesn't get to the top anymore. Little by little it has falling short of my desires until today when, figuring there was air in the system, I cracked open the filler screw thinking it was short on lubrication. Seems OK, so I close the thing up and now it's worse.

This is my only one so any help is appreciated.

It's actually a 3-ton, the stickers are missing. I looked at H-F, Tractor Supply and NAPA and they all look the same, maybe different paint and stickers.

Heh, heh, heh...he said "pump" and "saddle"...

If it looks like a NAPA jack it's most likely Sunex. My variation to the above is: 1. Release the jack (turn the handle CCW like you're letting it down) 2. Check and add fluid 3. Pull up on the saddle a few times 4. Turn the handle CW and put a load on it, see if it goes down

Hey, give the jack a break. How old is it? I know I can't lift as much as I used to. As for getting it ALLLL the way up, I should check the viagra forums for that problem.

On my craftsman you pull a rubber plug out of the lift cylinder and pump for a while.

If you can kill it... it can bleed?
