Any similar mazda/ford interchange? Maybe looking into polyurethane bushings.

Dan, I assume you are a member over at TeamCapri.com? That will be your best resource. From what I could find when I was researching it there is no interchange and few if any parts available suspension/bushing wise for the XR2.
One of the members there, long ago, appearently sat down with the Energy suspension catalog and took measurments to find "universal" bushings that would work. There is a rumored list, I keep finding references but not the actual list, of all his research with Energy Suspension part numbers and modifications needed to each if any.
I never got far enough to need it but maybe if you ask around over there someone still has a copy of that information.

Isn't that a slightly modified BG chassis? I bet it shares at least SOME bushings with the Protege/Escort/Tracer/323.

In the first test I read about the XR2, it beat the Miata. (it wasn't in GRM)

However his car has a fully transplanted 323 AWD setup in it so it is even more 323 than the standard Capri.

Thats kind of my point. Maybe you can swap a sub frame or two and get back to 323 stuff and then have access to lots more aftermarket potential.
What about buying poly rods or pouring your own poly bushings from stuff from McMaster Carr?

I understand but if you look at his project it's sadly not simple subframe swaps, there was alot of fabrication involved in making it work.
Some of the guys over there have gone the DIY route, I dont think anyone has poured their own but a few have made their own out of poly rods in a lathe.
