My 96 Civic has a noisy input shaft bearing. It has been there for about a year. The noise is intermittent. In the past year it has not become appreciably louder. Car has 105k on it.
So.. Tell me about failures and when can I expect one. I'm selling all my tools this weekend and won't have a place to work on the car for about 2-3 years. Think she'll last? I don't drive too harsh.
Also anyone know what the book rate would be on a replacement(I'd do a clutch at the same time.)
Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
I'm an idiot.
The noise changed and It was the waterpump bearing. Cost $$ though, cause I don't have a place to work on it anymore and sold my tools. Good thing I got it fixed before she really went and cost me an engine.
Sometimes, paying for work is OK.
Heh. I had a water pump go on a D16 and i pulled the motor out and stole the head off it for another car because it was making some odd metal on metal noises and I thought it was from the bottom end.
