Well, it looks like I'm going to try the world of SVO's for now so I'm selling my nice 1988 Xr4ti with a ton of spare parts. For the most recent pics, just browse through This photo album.
Alright, down to business. The car has been a northern car most its life, but it has never been driven during winter by myself or the PO. There are only two spots of surface rust on the driver's side door about the size of a nickel and that is the only rust on the car. Rocker panels are in good shape, not rotted through, some slight rust but this has been the best example of the 5 Xr's I've owned. The body and frame are very straight, the cloth interior is 9/10, just one little wear spot on driver's seat.
Exterior:
As I've mentioned, the body is in great shape, two little surface rust spots. The paint I would give 6/10, the color is still good, just the clearcoat is fading in typical areas. I tried cutting a cheap mans opening in the front grille that didn't turn out well, but it can be made to look better. The rear bumper has only one flaw and that is where the 3" exhaust exits. Whoever built the exhaust got it too close to the bumper and it kind of melted/cracked a little bit. Those are the only down parts. The spatulas are still in good shape, have all the center caps and the high performance summer tires still have 85-90% tread left on them. The windshield is BRAND NEW(Thanks Blugg!), I literally had the windshield installed the day I parked the car for winter.
Interior:
The interior is in excellent condition. I need to shampoo it, but next to being a little dirty right now the only flaw I can recall is the driver's side door side lumbar area of the seat has been worn a little from getting in/out of the car. I have a dual gauge pod installed with an autometer 30hg/30psi boost gauge and short sweep electric oil pressure gauge. I also have a 2-1/2" tach gauge and mechanical water temp gauge installed around the cluster area. The hatch support struts are bad, as typical, so new ones would be needed($30 for a pair IIRC). Again, NEW WINDSHIELD!!
Engine/Drivetrain:
Ok, this is where the price discrepancy comes into play. I need to get the head back on the car, manifold and turbo, but it is up to the buyer if they want a stock setup or keep my upgrade. The upgrade consists for a large 27"x12"x3" core FMIC, installed with fabbed up 3" stainless steel IC piping, a TurboXs RFL-H blow off valve, custom plenum upper/inline lower intake manifold with 4.6 SOHC 65mm TB and the necessary mods made to run the intake setup. I can also throw in a Kirban AFPR with the setup as well. So with the upgrade setup, $2750, with a stock config, $2000. Let's see, the turbo is a .48/60 turbo, 3" exhaust from the turbo-back, straight-thru muffler, gilis valve. I have simplified the cooling system as well.
I have done a t5 swap with a 92 mustang WC t5, pyropete clutch kit, resurfaced flywheel, MGW short throw shifter, new pilot and Throw out bearing, correct speedo cable, david godfrey adjustable clutch quad kit installed, mustang driveshaft with 460 machine driveshaft adapter.
Spare parts:
Black hood, complete black hatch, steering wheel/column assembly, various cables, gauge cluster, cluster surrounds, rear hatch seal, tail lights, auto diff in great shape set of BBS wheels(no center caps) and a ton other stuff.
I still need to get the motor back together as mentioned but that shouldn't take me more than a couple weeks.
Thanks for taking the time to read through everything and hopefully I was thorough enough in my description. If you still have any questions, feel free to ask!
