Well for something a little newer I think 2003-04 Infiniti M45s are pretty cool.

Styling may be subjective, but they can scoot. I dream of a black one hunkered down on some bronze Volk TE37s.

EDIT: Ya, I know you said classic, but hey, I kinda think these things are. Hardly ever see 'em around here.

    +1

Lady across the street dated a guy with a gold 6.3l I guess she wouldn't give it up or something but I saw that thing do a burnout more than once, pretty good show!

What about the early XJ6s? I prefer the early style ones to the late one but how much do they rust.

To make sure that you get the whole car, bring a broom and a bag .

Seriously, they rust rather badly, too, and they aren't that much easier to repair than a Mk2. The Series II is worse due to build quality issues even by Jaguar standards, but all of them (even the XJ40s) bubble easily and readily.

Pretty much anything (at least anything European) from the 1960s will rust like there's no tomorrow. It wasn't unusual for cars to only last six or seven years over here in Europe before the rust got terminal. Well, in Northern Europe at least.

the nice thing about being in the US is that you can get a nice southern/western car that isn't rusty. Even here in the midatlantic area, where stuff does get rusty, it's not as bad as what ive' seen in UK restoration magazines. Series I-III XJ6s can be had readily with no rust, or at least very minor surface rust. Same with the Marks that I posted. You really only have to watch for cars from the NE and upper midwest.
