FWIW, I contacted the Mechanix folks one time and asked them what they recommend. They said to use the Dawn-in-a-bucket solution.
I've stopped wearing these things for the most part, too. I'll wear them if I got hot parts to handle or similar. Otherwise I found myself taking them off and on all the time. I would also be spreading grease around the shop because I didn't realize how greasy they were when I was touching stuff.
My father tells me that he knew an grizzled old lady that ran her own farm. She would never hire anyone that wore work gloves or that smoked. She said if they wore gloves they would be wasting time taking them on and off all the time. If they smoked, then they would take a break every time they wanted a smoke.
I really like the idea of the flocked-lined nitrile gloves! I use regular ones when doing extra dirty jobs and I hate how they make my hands sweat...
