    I insure both a 7 Mazda REPU,and recently my 83 Plymouth(Mitsubishi) Sapporo with Hagerty. I had to jump through a few hoops with the Sapporo,but they eventually insured it. My guess is a CRX is more collectible than a Sapporo,but I have been wrong before. Did you send in pictures of the car? That is what it took for me to get insured.

    I have my 79 RX-7 insured with them as well,and wanted to up the coverage from $5k to $7-$8k and they won't do it. I feel that the $5k is too low for the car now that the 79-80(mine is a early 78 production car) cars are harder and harder to find now in great shape like mine. Also mine is a rare color as it was only used one year. I plan on trying again.

    I'm not sure what the confusion is. The point of collector insurance is to insure non-daily drivers for occasional use. The agreed value coverage is also nice when your car has passed the age where it's common as a regular use vehicle and real world values are all over the map.

    I'm pretty sure all companies require you to have at least one other vehicle that's newer with regular insurance. I have two: my daily driver that has full coverage and my Cummins pick up with liability only. Both are newer than my E30 and GT6. I'll drive both collector-insured cars to work once in awhile, but that is not their primary purpose, so it is allowed.

    For the Willys, you may want to look into the Antique Truck Club of America. Many of their members have old OTR trucks that while retired from commercial hauling, are often still used to haul other antique trucks to events. They can probably point you towards collector insurance that would cover such use.

    I was denied coverage on the CRX by Hagerty, Condon & Skelly, J.C. Taylor, Barrett Jackson (American Modern & Chartis), Leland-West, and Grundy.

    American Collectors, Chubb, and Collector Car Insurance all offered quotations. American Collectors was not the cheapest (just a few dollars higher) but based on my experience in dealing with them and the strong recommendation of the GRMers on here - I have chosen to go with them.
