Ran across this a few months ago. Don't know the owner but seems like he's still trying to sell it. If I didn't already have an auto-X car I'd be all over it...

I have a lead for you.

A Minnesota teenager had to have his testicle amputated after being punched in the groin by a classmate, KARE11.com reported Friday.

David Gibbons, 14, was changing classes in his Crosby, Minn. high school when he was attacked by another student playing a game called “sack tapping.”

David’s mother, Christy Gibbons, said it wasn’t until hours later that they realized something was wrong.

"One o'clock in the morning he woke me up and told me he was in excruciating pain," she said.

David was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital in Brainerd, Minn. where surgeons removed his right testicle.

And David is not the only student who has suffered the consequences of the “sack tapping” game.

"It's just gotten way out of control," said Dr. Scott Wheeler, a urologist in Brainerd, Minn. who says he performs three to four surgeries a year on boys with ruptured testicles and other complications as a result of “sack tapping.”

"All parents, you need to have this talk with your kids not to do it. It's lost its humor. It's not a game anymore. People get hurt," he added.

And on top of everything else, it's Inca. Never had one that color, always wanted one.

Clean 02s make broke-ass FGC cry.

Us "traditional BMW guys" didn't like the E30 when it came out. At the time, I still had my E3, a 2002, and my DD (when it ran) was a Grey Market E21 323i. Most of us bitched about the fact that the "yuppies" had discovered us..IIRC, back then, I said that I missed the days when our cars were so far under the radar that people thought the acronym meant "British Motor Works". Maybe that's why I had such a violent reaction when VW (my current marque) tried to go "upmarket" as well in the 1990s?

Still raises the hair on the back of my neck to this very day when I hear somone call one of the cars a "Beemer". Old school BMW folks know that "beemers" are the bikes, and "bimmers" are the cars.

Funny thing..it seems like none of us saying that E36 M3 all those years ago had ever actually driven an E30. Honestly, I blame myself for being stupid enough that it took 30yrs for me to realize that they're really pretty cool cars.

Back in my schools, any attempt at "Sack Tapping" would have resulted in bloodshed.

    Oh, and the bimmer's overpriced.

Please keep in mind this is coming from someone who previously owned two E30s.

The big distinction between "beemer" and "bimmer" is precisely why most people think people who drive BMWs are c0cks. I'm a huge BMW fan and have been for a long time, but I could care less about the distinction.

Well said. It's not your fault some of us can't let it go, even though it's been 30yrs since that nonsense happened..

EDIT: ROFL! Especially since I don't even have one BMW still hanging around my house anymore! Can we at least cheer together for the Rahal/Letterman M3s in ALMS? I'm actually "Bangle hater" too, but sometimes ya just gotta be "true to your school&quot..

If you don't like 2002 's, $7500 might be considered too much.

If you do like 2002s, consider the rust-free, dent-free clean condition of the car, consider the list of what has gone into it as well as the labor to get it there, I think it is a relative bargain. If you had to pay someone to do this to an average 02 off the street, I don't think $7500 would even cover the labor. JMHO, though.

    In reply to carzan:

    Agreed.

In our little bubble-world of DIY basket-cases, I think it's perhaps easy to forget how much money it takes in the long run to get an older car to this condition. Have I seen less expensive ones? Sure. Are there better "deals" for the DIYer? Maybe. Have I seen one that I want as much and doesn't require a damn thing? Not really.

That said, $7500 is a good chunk of change and there are any number of faster, more powerful, more modern cars you could buy for that money. If that's what you're into.

disclaimer - I have no affiliation with the seller, nor do I have the money to back up my wanton delusions of buying this car. (turns out the testicle-transplant market isn't where it used to be)

And if you think $7500 for this car was too much, you may want to look into the BMW's contemporary competition, the Alfa GTV.

I KNOW my GTV isn't as nice as that BMW, and there's no way I would sell it for less than $10k. Good ones are going for +$15k.

    $7500 is a reasonable price.

I showed that ad to my boss, who brought home a reasonable square-tail 2002 a few months ago. He called me names. It would seem he doesn't consider this to be overpriced given what it will take to bring his to that condition
