I don't know if cars like this regularly attend hillclimbs in England but I'd've liked to attend this one!

Makes me want to build a little single seater with nothing more than wheels and engine like several in the last few pics.

See if you can spot the car doing the wheelie

It would be interesting to find out the specs on that car...

Did anyone else notice the Toyota emblem on the front?

Looks like one of those sports cars based on a mini, I forget what they are called though.

The white car is a Mini Marcos:

Smart has a Toyota badge on the front.

From the front, that somewhat resembles a Renault Alpine..

So if a Smart is doing wheelies does that also mean that it is smart to do wheelies?

My favs - 9, 32, 40, 41 & 65

Yeah, a Smart pulling a wheelie (and with a cage) is not something you see everyday!

Love the Lotus Cortina.

That bright orange, slammed, VW Kombi truck-thing is also pretty cool. There's a roll cage in the cabin...I wonder if it went for a run up the hill?

Whilst I'd love to do a hill climb for the variety of cars that attended this one, I'd be spending all my time in the paddock area taking pics and asking questions. Like can I sit in it?

What is with a the Smart doing the wheel stand

I did some digging around, and here's the skinny on that Smart. It's powered by a 2.0l Toyota MR-2 engine (3SGE?)

I'm guessing the wheel stand is a result of SWB + powerful, heavier-than-stock engine + aggressive launch.

As an aside, here's what one member of the Mercedes-Benz forum has to say about this particular car:

"Seems like a waste of time, money, energy, and film. Why anyone would do this is beyond me"

What a square! He's like the total opposite of us.

Great stuff. For those of you in the eastern USA, ~This Group~ is excellent.

~HERE~~ is pictures I took at Duryea last year.

Love that SuperSmart

I have to ask, what is the vertical black bar on the front of every car for? Something to do with the timing system I am guessing?

For us to have a hill climb, first we'd have to have a hill.

North Texas isn't as flat as Kansas, but no hills with enough terrain change to even consider a hill climb.

Curvy roads we got so a flat hill climb could work. Do you run on roads that no one lives on?
