Those of us on the HAMB have a real distaste for that site and most of the "carz" that come out of it. But it is fun to look at, in cartoon boobs porn star kind of way.
that Caddy is pretty sweet though.

C'mon, real vs. cartoon? When are either bad?
I used to buy that mag off of the newsstand a few years ago.
Neat cars, for sure.
The Caddy ain't no rat. The paint's glossy instead of flat.
I prefer HAMB. Member since '98.
I'm on the HAMB as OldsPowered. The backlash against "rat rods" is really growing.
Hmmm, that site needs more iron crosses and spider webs.....
That A doesn't qualify as a rat, I don't see much wrong with it.
Is the backlash aimed at guys who're showing up for the lifestyle or is there a legitimate engineering reason? Not a dig. I'm just curious. I've always liked the idea of rat rods but I'm seeing a lot of nuevo punk and hot rod kids jumping on the bandwagon lately. I wonder if that's skewing the vibe a little.

I hate any website with sound.
The backlash is that it had turned into a derogatory term. Rat rods are done poorly for the sake of being done poorly. Using garbage to fabricate parts that there was no reason to do it that way other than being trendy.
Generally ratrods toss out safety and reliability for a "grunge" look.
A traditional rod is not a rat and vise-versa. Ratrods are generally dangerous, garbage machines in which the owner decided to ruin a classic rod to be unique like everyone else.
I like the "Betties" pages.

Orca betties to the max. I love going whaling.
I get the magazine. You have to take it with a grain of salt, a lot of the cars show a tremendous amount of creativity and I appreciate that whether its an old school rat rod or a honda civic with a supercharger in a different magazine. The problem is the silliness with the "betties", the tattoos, guys walking around with their jeans rolled up like they are on a Happy Days episode, the "kulture" and all that crap.

I read the mag too and I have to laugh at that stuff. All the pompadours give me a chuckle too. But hey, whatever floats your boat ya know?
