I need to reroute one of the braided brake lines on the front of my 96 Miata, so I'll need to replace the copper washers. I'm away from the car now and need to pick up some new washers. Anybody know what size I need to get?

These aren't supposed to be re-used are they?

They say no but it's done all the time. You can anneal them with a propane torch if you really think you need to but you will not.

Yup, copper is exactly opposite of steel. Quench hot copper in water and it goes soft, whereas steel would be hard and brittle.

I've used the same oil drain pan bolt washer for years without leaks. EVery few oil changes I heat it up, while draped over a piece of wire and drop it in a pail of water. Sometimes I'll need to slide it over a large file a time or two to remove a burr, but they just keep going and going.
