93C: Haha, how hard would it be to swap that drivetrain into a same-gen Celica convertible?

There's a few All-Tracs on CL near me. Working the rally last weekend has got my medulla badidea going nuts.

http://nh.craigslist.org/cto/1826570067.html - Two for the price of one! If only the Challenge had a rallycross portion...

http://hartford.craigslist.org/cto/1807284125.html - Autotragic, but appears to be in much better shape than the above

    http://nh.craigslist.org/cto/1855475312.html - Engine swap donor?

Way harder in the RWD verts that you're looking at.

Not TERRIBLY hard in the 4th, 5th, or 6th gen variety, but it's not a bolt in affair.

That Camry AllTrac is the way to go. Easiest way to do it.

My Camry Alltrac (blown) is going up on the block for the whopping price of free-fifty ($100 challenge value) here shortly if someone is willing to trailer from the PRC.

I was gonna do the 3S-GTE swap, but I've just never got around to it, and I have other projects that are higher priority for me.

I've got myself an All-Trac sedan....

outfitted with Bilsteins, and Bridestone RE960A/S she is pretty decent. Just doing the planning on adding 50#/ft of torque to a 4AFE

Well yeah, I was thinking about the 4th gen convertible and adding various bits from another All-Trac plus a light pressure turbo setup to wake it up a bit. On the 3rd gen, no thanks.

    All-trac Corolla...there's a car I didn't know existed. Very cool.

Wouldn't the easiest swap still be a 4AGE/4AGZE? Probably GZE for the torques.

I'm not sure i would bother turbo-ing a 3sfe. 3sgte swap would be extremely easy in that car, and that's the route i would take. Hold up better, still not be horribly expensive, and have the capability to make enough power to make you soil yourself every time you pull out of your driveway if so you desire.

If you're cool with maybe 170whp, then go ahead and turbo the 3sfe. I wouldn't trust the motor much past that.
