Not the DP I expected, lol.
Very cool, though... it's nice to see the styling elements of the street car on the prototype.
yes indeed
I was gonna post it but jus knew somebody would in short order
tell me more... including the line I need to sign on to get myself one, and the location of the nearest organ donor clinic so I can fund it
Bailout money going to good use!
Props to Corvette and Grand Am. This is the first DP car that doesn't look retarded.
nderwater beat me to it. Kinda reminds me of another Corvette I used to know..
I can't wait for The Rolex 24 !!!!
In reply to nderwater: I've read in a few places that DP knew that fans thought the cars looked really akward. Didn't think they would look like production cars, though.
That Prototype just made me feel funny.

OK, I will quit my job if I can't get the time off to camp at the Glen for this next year.
Oh God that is hot. I need a moment.
Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeettttt
apparently it closely resembles a prototype design proposed by the ACO in 2008
Best looking DP ever ! (AKA damning by faint praise.....)
Let's hope there's a street car to follow!
Rog
This addresses one of the main complaints I have about the DP cars.
Zora would be happy. Mitchell would like it (including the nod to the "stinger" in the rear window/engine cover).
I NEED to see this in person. When is the 6 hours at the Glen?
Could this lead finally to a road going Mid-engine Corvette? Marketing a mid engine race car after a front engined street car?????
2012 Grand-Am schedule , 6 hours at the glen June 29 - July 1.
I was skeptical at all the talk of changing the 2012 DPs to allow more "brand identity". I thought it would end up looking even more forced than the headlights and grill decals they had up until this point. I'll admit now that I was DEAD wrong; This thing looks awesome. Hopefully we see similarly awesome packages from BMW and Porsche, though with Action Express moving from Porsche to Chevy, the latter seems less likely. Maybe ford can pull off a Mustang prototype?

YES PLZ!
Hopefully, that's just the C7 Corvette that everyone will get.
