My choice in sports cars has always been small bore. I've got to admit though that of all the race cars I've ever seen one of my most thrilling memories is of a line of 427ci Corvettes and Cobras running down the main straight @ Road Atlanta during the early 70s run-offs. The two cars were basically equal in performance and the sound was deafening. The sound pressure almost affected my heart rate. It makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up to just think about it. Although I'm not likely to ever own one I definitely appreciate them for their performance.

I do enjoy me a big V8 thunder - but I have to say that hearing a 302 Boss Mustang wind up to around 9000 rpm at the Mitty this year made me reassess my priorities. Holy cow, that was music.
