A friend is working on an electric LeMons car. He has a forklift motor that turns counter clockwise. Any brilliant ideas for a solid axle rwd drivetrain?

    yes.

flip the solid axle upside-down, revise the attachment points and the venting.

Air cooled VW transaxle mounted for mid engine without flipping the ring gear.

The only CCW drivetrains I can think of are fiat 850, corvair and honda civic.

I second the flip the diff idea. I have seen a few mid engine sports racers based on rear engine fiat drivetrains that just flipped the transaxles upside down.

I'm lobbying for the ACVW solution. Flipping the diff would work, I'm not sure for how long. Also, the trans might not like going the wrong way.

Is it an AC motor? If so, why don't you just reverse the polarity?

flip it around and put the output shaft out the opposite end of the motor.
