Has anyone used D rated tires to on a Minivan to tow your track car (miata) The van pulls the miata just fine, but would like a stiffer sidewall tire to firm up the tow process. But when not towing would this make the ride that bad that I would want to change tires to normal rated tires for DD use?

    TIA...

Depending on the tire manufacturer you might notice a slight difference or a huge difference. I had Goodyear Wrangler RTS on a 98 Blazer in "normal" C range. When I replaced them (under a pro-rata warranty) the only ones they had in stock were the D-range.

Those particular tires weren't the greatest idea. It wasn't terrible, but bump input to the cabin was dramatically increased.

What sort of minivan and what size tires? I think you might have a hard time finding D-load tires in a size close to stock.
