i wonder what you have to do to those things to make them turn right, and are they still running powerglides with gutted converters?

That was about as awesome as I'd hoped.

The dirt modifieds I'm familiar with used a lot of offset chassis components, so I'm really curious how they handled the setup on these cars. The cars in that video had a ton of roll, so I suspect stiffer spring rates and/or bigger anti-roll bars next time out.

Most use a Two speed with a tiny multi disc clutch. You don't need many gears with a light car and a bigblock, even on a roadcourse.

berkeley yes. I would pay to see some of that action at Road Atlanta...it also would've been cool to hear some driver reaction. I bet those dudes were giggley.

Outside of adjusments that can be made to a dirt car (springs, sway bars, etc), they must be run in dirt trim, including the tires!

That video was shot from a weeknight practice session.

They're calling for over 50 cars.. $300 payout to each starter, $5000 to the winner if he's in a big block, and I think $7000 to the winner if he's driving a small block. It should be pretty wild.

There is also a 2 hour Street Stock support race. Which should be equally as entertaining.

Date is June 20th at NJMP.

That is all kinds of awesome. So how much does one of those dirt modifieds cost?

The problem is these aren't crate modifieds. Some of these guys have some big $$ tied up in motor programs.
