How'd a bunch of SWB Dodge vans wind up in Japan? Wouldn't have guessed a big market for them there.

    They're Japan-sized church buses.

I am looking to drop my 1990 E150 as well. I found the following site. They have drop I-beams for 92 and up.

FWIW, full size wheelchair van conversions tend to lower the floor about 6". The suspension stay the same, although they seem to go with E-250 setup to handle the extra weight of the conversion. I've not seen a full sized accessible van that has been lowered in the way we are talking about. There are accessible minivans that squat down when the ramp is deployed, like one of Wally's busses, and I guess those use some sort of airbag setup to do that.

I've always wanted an early 70s Chevy or Dodge SBW Van, stripped out, and a full custom interior made by me put into it. When I was a kid, e had an 86 Safari van that the rear seats in it reclined back to make a bed, and I always liked that idea. But, there are just too many ideas in my head right no to spell it all out.
