Okay, kinda. I picked up US129 somewhere south of Macon and followed it down to Florida. I know that Tail of the Dragon gets all the attention, but the southern part of that route is pretty cool, too--just lots of nice scenery and little to no traffic.

Did the actual Tail of the Dragon last year in the Odyssee with the whole family in tow. It was pretty fun until my youngest got sick and yacked in the GPS box.

For what its worth, Dragon + Tom and Jerry DVD's in the back seat = vomit. Yep, I now realize how predictable that sounds.

Aussie followed me 53W to 369 to 372 to 53W on the way back. Fun ride...when you don't get stuck behind some knob in a Boxster for 20 miles.

Yeah, I know. While driving home last night, I knew that US129 sounded familiar. I just looked it and saw why. Duh. Seriously, it's a nice way to get south of Atlanta without resorting to I-75.

Drove that with the wife holding the video camera in the shotgun seat. She puked at the end. Video still looked slow.

Two of my friends actually drove Tail of the Dragon on their way down to the Mitty. Needless to say, they had a blast!

It was kind of funny though, a Honda Fit and a huge yellow Rangie being held up by a Porsche on the corners and in the straights. Bob Costas Porsche drivers...

I drove it last week on my way back to Dallas from a Miata meet in Tampa. Slight detour. And I actually drove it 15 times.

dang, I live just a few miles from the Tail and I've never driven it... guess I should probably loose some car-guy points ... oh well maybe someday

besides there are a whole bunch of great roads along the Tenn / NC boarder that are pretty darn good ... many of them with less traffic
