I am considering buying a 320i from CL that is described as "running rough".

Here is a response I got from the seller.

It does run and I have driven it, but it is not a fun ride. When slowing down it tends to die. Haven't been able to figure that part out.

I was figuring a good tune-up and maybe fuel filter should have it back on it's feet. Is this a reasonable assumption or should I be expecting to go more in depth.

Assuming it is an E21, you've got the K-Jet system to deal with on top of the usual suspects - it can be a pain.

pretty car the e21... K jet is not that difficult to deal with... but dual carbs sound sexy

e21s are undervalued and way underappreciated. I so want to drop a Rover V8 into one.

    +1

I had a rust free one that was stinky and needed a steering rack, but ran OK. I struggled to get $300 for it. I even posted it to the GRM classifieds with no takers...
