Tire sizing is one of those things...It seems there are at least two billion different sizes of tires out there, but none to fit my stuff. Well, thats not really true, but I like to run good tires on my 82 Camaro. When it was built, 15" 60 series tires were good- not best, but good enough for my needs. A decade later, I'm buying 16" wheels and 50 series, because I can't buy anything other than E36 M3 in a 15. Now, my next set of tires is probably going to involve a set of 17" wheels, although maybe I should just skip a generation and go 18, but I am not a big fan of ultra low profile stuff. 50's are ok, but much lower than that, and they get harsh and darty for no significant performance improvement.

My car will be mainly an auto-x car, so a BBK is not in the near-term plans. Plus, whatever brake upgrades I may eventually do to the car must fit under the OE 14" rims - maybe Euroweaves at most. Classic registration requires the car to "appear" original.

Yeah, the only upgrade you could do under Euroweaves would be Massive's Street kit, great I had it on two cars, but I always wanted an E30 with BBK at all 4 corners.

Near enough to the C1 to make no difference - especially on a budget-prepped STX car. When I get to doing track events with it, the track pads Sonic included with the car, a fresh bleed and securing the OE brake ducts will have to do.

UPDATE:

Thanks for all the input. The 225/45-15 advice turned out to be the most helpful suggestion on this given day.

I was able to trade some tires I had in the garage for some brand new Hankook RS3's in the above size plus some cash towards my wheels.

Now I just need to figure out how to get the deal on the TRM C1s that is published in December 2011's GRM that is not shown on the tirerack site.

I "think" it's due to a difference in application and the cheaper one is for a version I haven't found yet (I can't seem to get a 15x8 to show up for a Miata, maybe a Civic fitment?). When you start to go otuside of what the Tire Rack site thinks your car needs, things get fuzzy and you really have to call them to make sure you're ordering exactly what you want.

argh. No.

And you guys are right. I re-checked the ad and saw "Starting at... $79".

So looks like I have to suck it up for the extra $80, which I have no problem with (still, cheaper is better!). I'll call to make sure they have the correct centerbore.

Sounds like the ones. The 4x100 E30 fitment are $20 ea. more.

The E30 ones are direct-fit and are the correct bore, but I would still call.
