  I picked up a 96 Chevy 5.7 with 145k for couple of hundred dollars with a bad intake manifold (very common for 5.7, made awesome coolant geyser!). Spent about one fifty in parts and couple of days work and now it runs great.

  These trucks have plenty of room for four adults inside.

  No matter how I drive it she gets about 17-18 MPG.

  does it HAVE to be 4wd? If not, you can get a good deal on a diesel...either Powerstroke or Cummins should fit the towing bill to a T
