that is a good sign.
My wife hates my 944 Turbo S. She thinks it is too small, too old and "smells". The good news is that I have had my Turbo S longer than her. 
my wife hated my miata as soon as i put the exhaust and autoX suspension on it. she didn't mind it before that, but afterwards, no way. she wouldn't be into an Elise either b/c of the wide door sills and high beltline.
so alex i think you're in good shape, especially if she is already into the car. if she likes driving it, she will be more likely to accept any unforeseen issues that arise (with any car). it doesn't sound like you're trying to talk her into something she is against.
