Ok so I noticed a lot of people complaining about the weights of engines that are quoted on the Internet and how they rarely say what they were weighed with. So I figured it wouldn't be a bad idea to start a thread that people could post the weight of engines they have weighed and what was on the engine when they weighed it.

1920s LeRoy 12HP 2Cyl. Complete with starting crank, radiator, exhaust, and cabinet. 497 pounds.
Sorry that's the only engine I have weighed.
I will be pulling a 12a out of an RX-7 in the next month or so. I'll throw it on the scales when I do.

How high do bathroom scales go? I can weigh a Mazda BP and K8 if i can get a scale that goes high enough.

Very interested to know this. I have abandoned all ideas of ever swapping one but the quoted weights vary so widely from source to source that I just have to know.

Most of them will go to 300 pounds. I've got a freight scale that will go to 500. With a simple rig, you can go as high as you want.
A little bit of math and presto.

Now that's a database that would make sense to be here. like something that's part of the readers rides area. this is one place I actually trust most to upload accurate weight measurements w/ description of what's included. Be nice to actually get enough data points to trust a ballpark weight for a given configuration.
