Many years ago (at least 10) either Popular Hot Rodding or Hot Rod had an article about the three power tools you MUST have. I believe (IIRC) they were a drill press, a welder and a grinder (which in their case they created using a belt sander mounted vertically to the ground on a steel pipe held vertical by an old steel wheel). They claimed that it worked well for cleaning up edges of steel cut with a hacksaw, that sort of thing.
The welder might have been a bandsaw, now that I think about it.
Anyway, I wanted some opinions. What three or four power tools would you regard as essential?
