My son has a 2015 Fiesta SE with the 1.6 gas engine.  The other day he said it was making a clattering noise and smelled like burning oil.  Claimed it had oil on the dipstick and drove fine.

Then this morning he comes in and says there is no oil in the car but a large puddle where it was parked.  Jack it up, drain what is in the car to find it had 2 quarts in it.  Put in fresh oil and new filter to be safe.  Restart engine and see a spray of oil from a missing bolt in the block just behind the passenger side CV axle.  Find a M10-1.5 bolt to fit and send it back in with threadlocker.

Car seems fine now but is this a common occurrence?  Car only has 75,000 miles on it.  Bolts falling out that hold the oil in the engine seems like a E36 M3ty design.

(filtered the oil we drained and got some small pieces but not much, cut open the filter and nothing seemed noteworthy)

I put only 65K on my 13 SE.   Nothing fell off.

.Rare happenstance I think,
