I've got a wild idea but I figured some GRM research was in order. Anybody have pictures of cars with fighter plane style paintjobs?

I hope this idea involves painting up your P71 like a WW2 Bomber.

Bitchin especially with the bias plys...

As seen at the most recent SEMA - a la Eddie Hahm custom. I love TCs...This is a little odd concidering the ricer(YO) appeal these have, but I like the individuality, so I give 10 originality points

the F-bomb was my favorite Hot Rod project...aside from the Freiburger Land Speed Record Camaro....I miss DF, Hot Rod is just not the same....can Motorsport Marketing, Inc. purchase them, and reinstate Mr. Freiburger please?

The BMW and the F-Bomb are both completely and utterly awesome.

There's a Luftwaffe-painted Formula Vee out there, I wish I could find pics of it, but it's pretty damn cool. . .

Painting my SA like a Japanese Zero is one of my long term goals.

    Hmmmm...

Wonder what's the best spray OD green? I was thinking of the silver/aluminum look, but early war is looking good.

This car was built by the father/daughter team that won the Bull Run show that was on Spike a couple years back in the red Trans Am.

    modeled after this

ya those fighter planes with the toothy mouths look sweet...and on the right car i'm sure it would look book! The firebird has that nice pointed nose on it that really takes the mouth look well! Early German paint schemes look cool too, with the iron cross on them...maybe some kind of stripe too...Red Baron anyone?

Spitfires offer a neat lil scheme too...and a play on words!

Going japanese here looks tuff too...

Look up "Tiger Meet" if you want to see some pretty crazy plane paint schemes.

Here is one that comes full circle:

Here is one I saw at a local car show last year. The execution was really good. It started out as something called a Litestar/Pulse and was heavily modified with an air cooled beetle engine installed in the rear. It was street legal and was driven to the show.

A little note on "Final Objective"...that car is stupid.

27L supercharged V12 Rolls-Royce Merlin (aka: WW2 era aircraft) engine. I would doubt the 3000hp claim, Rolls only claimed 1600hp on 100/150 fuel, but I'm not sure what altitude that refers to.

Merlins can be pushed to 3,000 +. Look no further than Reno unlimited air racers. But they go POP a lot.

If anything, I'd go for the Russian aggressor type scheme:

What sim is that last shot of the SU-27 from? That's hot!

I'm nostalgic for fighter pilots. Drone warfare has rendered them obsolete.

I feel the same way about drones that I do about redlight and speed cameras...
