Most of you know about my project. Take 1 Miata, remove the mechanicals, bolt them into a new frame then slip a 50's inspired body over it. Here are some final renditions of the body. It will probable change some once I start building.

I have been waiting for a body made for my in England to start my project with. The body arrived in New Jersey on Friday. Now I am waiting for it to clear customs and get trucked to me. Hopefully soon!

My Miata is stripped down to the cradles. I have what I think is a great way to build the frame. I have ordered materials. But, I can't start the frame until the body arrives.

Really, really nice. I'd seriously consider buying the glass and building a tube chasis under it. Will that be an option?

The body is fiberglass. The body that I purchased is pretty close to what I will turn it into. I will use foam, body filler, and a lot of elbow grease to make the changes. Then I will make a mold. Then lay up the final fiberglass body. Lots of work.

This car will be for the street. With the addition of a roll cage it would make a great track car too. Any suspension, drivetrain part for a Miata will bolt into this car too. I have calculated the final weight (with out roll cage) at around 1350lbs.
I have lived in NH for the past 20 years. In NH a polycarbonate windshield is legal. I haven't checked NY laws yet. But, I will have a separate windshield mount that will take the frame and DOT glass from a Porsche 550 or 356 replica. These would look period correct, are the right size and would be legal.

I am planning to offer this as kit. It would include the tube frame. I am working with a friend of mine that is a chassis engineer to create the frame. The target price for the complete kit is $4900. This would include everything needed but a 1989-2004 Miata donor.

I am having a web site built right now and setting up the business. I am not soliciting orders nor would I accept them. When the site is in place. I will advertise it here. I am not looking to be a free loader on the form. I'm just excited about the project.
