What they said. And you paid too much, even before considering that it was a sight-unseen purchase.

Well, maybe you're right. I may not have searched hard enough for a better deal, but when I checked autotrader for a similar, one owner, black 940 turbo wagon with 78,000 miles, I did not turn up anything. I've seen a few on craigslist but usually with a lot more miles.

glad it's resolved. nice car. makes me feel like a shmuck for passing on one for $1500 last month. It had 120k, but that sounds like it doesn't much matter.

Yeah, I guess I did miss it, have no idea what the reference to canoe is about. Inside website humor I guess. $1500 sounds like a great deal but it all depends on how clean the car is.

Can_oe is the codeword here for spam. Somebody had posted a spam post in the thread, but Baxter deleted it.

had the body checked at an alignment shop, seems like the bumper misalignment was no big deal either, relatively minor fix. I got all worked up about nothing. Irish temper I guess. I also ordered springs and struts for it the other day. Will post before and after pics either here or under a new thread for any volvo freaks out there.

Have had normally aspirated and turbo cars/wagons. Have a 5.0L 242 now. No comparison between the two in my opinion. Nothing like V8 torque right now, any gear, any time. And modded - things just keep getting better.

Based on your story I'd stay as far away from this dealer as I could. And there's absolutely no way I'd hand over my money until/unless I saw a clear, non-salvage title ready to be signed over to me when I handed over the money. No exceptions.

Looks like a clean car! I've had a few sub $500 Volvos (4 to be exact), including a couple of turbo 7 series and a 244 turbo, but nothing as nice as that! They're great cars and alot of fun to supe up on a budget! My 744T had a cam, exhaust etc. along with upped boost and E85 and really hauled, think if I do another it will be LSX powered

You need to find out immediately if it was a cash for clunkers trade and registered as one. If the dealer put it in the system and got the rebate the car can not be titled, even as a salvage vehicle. I hope not, it looks very clean.

Can the dealer be fined for that?

    $15,000 per occurance

What did you do with your 744T?

My car is still in the suspension shop, the guy is putting lowering springs, bilstein shocks, bushings, etc. on it for me, looks like he's just getting to it, will post pics when its done.

That is a lucky find. To find that car with those miles in that condition is hard to do! I so miss my black on black 745T. The candoeverythingintheworldcar. I agree with the LS swap.

I don't think it's a machine, rather someone who gets paid to cut & paste E36 M3 on forums all over the Internet
