I am a new PWC owner, and as part of the winterization procedure the manual recommends using fogging oil. Nothing important about that, I had just never heard of it. You spray it into the cylinders to avoid corrosion over the winter. Common for boat engines apparently.

I wonder if it will help with things like my lawnmower, snowblower, ATV, and motorcycle that get put away over the winter?

I used it when I bought the motor for my truck, since I left it sitting through the cold winter months. What's a PWC?

My dad always used deep-creep. Same guys who make sea foam.

I used to work for a yacht maintenance company, and we used it when we winterized engines. It would probably help for any engine that sits, though I don't do my lawnmowers and stuff.

They might be smokey when you start them up in the Spring.

Use it all the time. It works good and cheap too.

Fogging oil is good to use on a 4 cycle engine but I've never saw the need to used it on a 2 cycle one. That being said I have a Ford van that sits quite a bit, like sometines 6 months without being run and it always starts right up. I only had to jump it once in the 8 years I've owned it. It doesn't smoke or use oil. I only used fogging oil on it once shortly after I bought it. I haven't the past 7 years.

Fogging oil won't hurt your lawnmower, atv, etc, but I don't think it's necessary. Cylinder wall rust is just not a problem with them, even when sitting outside.
