Anyone done one of these with fully functional street accessories? I'm working on one that I have to make California legal. Problem #1 is getting an exhaust to fit. The Mustang header dumps aren't at quite the right angle. Any advice on getting them reoriented?

We have one of these show up to our local weekly car show sometimes. If we have one this week and the guy shows up I'll see if I can get some contact information for you.

Hrm... unless you manipulate 'em with a BFH, I'm not real sure what your options will be; if you don't use the stock headers, you'll have to use CARB numbered ones, which will all have the identical dump angle as they're all designed to bolt up to the stock H-pipe.

I'd talk to your local smog ref and see what he says. He (or she) will be the one that determines if you're legal or not, so his opinion will be the one that really matters.

Bolt them to the engine, attatch comealong, crank.

Replace your project with a '75 Volvo 240. Problem solved.

My Converse converted 5.0 1984 245 has some type of headers but I can't read the product name or number off of them. I will see if they came with the PO reciepts.

I thought of that, but they're a bit rare, even around the San Francisco Bay Area. That is one of the advantages of the Mustang 5.0 headers is that they're tubing rather than cast, making BFH mods a possibility.
