I've been researching Ford Taurus SHO's recently and came across this interesting TSB. TSB's are used to point Ford techs in the right direction when diagnosing issues. This one pertains to evidence and the effects of "engine tampering." Even if you're not thinking about making a Ford warranty claim on an SHO it's interesting reading from a data point perspective on what can happen to a modern engine that's been "tuned."

Link to the TSB here.

This is pretty standard stuff actually. I've seen very similar TSBs out of Ford, Dodge, GM, and others before. There are lots of similar ones for Cummins-equipped trucks too.

That is nice they include a decision flowchart to follow. Keeps everything "respectable" between everyone.

Well.... It already says "Do the modifications fit the DTC's present?"

Which means "your discretion to make E36 M3 up if you think you can get away with it".

It is my understanding that any damage that can be DIRECTLY ATTRIBUTED TO AFTERMARKET PARTS OR MODIFICATIONS is the only thing not warrantied. Basically if you put aftermarket wheels on your car and your shifter handle breaks, no problem. If you put larger turbos on it and port the heads and turn the volume up to 11, then your transmission snaps an input shaft, then you're in trouble.
