Regardless of how you feel about the Ford Raptor (I think it is pretty cool) you have to love this shot!

I saw a FoMoCo produced 1-hr special about the Raptor on Speed, seems like a pretty sweet and capable truck.

A good commercial would be to show a guy getting his truck un-stuck by stuffing a bunch of Spotted Owls under the wheels for traction.

You're right. Spotted Owls give you zero traction and they're too small - you'll need tons of them. Tree huggers are much better for added traction and much more common. The overweight ones in the spotless Land Rovers work best.

    GREAT pic.

Point taken…but the convenience of being able seal up any radiator leaks that may have developed by cracking open some Spotted Owl eggs and pouring them in is really nice wouldn’t you say?

i'd rock one especially with the new hurricane motor....wait gotta be PC as to not piss off hurricane victims.......BOSS motor. It'll either have a 5.4L 24v SOHC v8 or a 6.2L 24v sohc v8 (the BOSS). $40k is a bit much for a truck, but it's pretty cool. But just think 20k more and you get a CTS-V

I think that Top Gear is over due for a Mexican adventure All this tree-hugger bashing is coming across in Jeremy Clarson's voice as I read it

I hadn't heard of the Raptor before this but after reading about it a little bit online it sounds like it would be fun as hell if you could actually find a place to run it flat out! Too bad you can't get it with a diesel engine!

Look here's the reason why i think that truck is lame, I have the same problem with the wrangler rubicon...
It's my belief that most true offroad enthusiasts are tree huggers in one shape or another. To a point they want to protect the wild places of our world because they want to travel there in their rigs and test them.

We're at a point where lands are being taken away from 4x4 guys(especially in the East) and the last thing we need is some moron in a raptor ripping around some place and ruining it for the rest of us.. I'm just scared that something like this is going to make the bubbas go out tear up too much crap... All it takes is one bud light fueled romp through a wetland area.

I know it's a pretty weak argument, especially when the truck is such a nice bit of kit... but.............

I like the Raptor for what it is...and the fact that the Lightning started out this way as well.Maybe there is a performance truck from Ford in the future?

While I totally see your point, bear in mind that the group of off roaders this is supposed to appeal to are the ones who like Trophy Trucks, and going down Baja- not rock climbing and trail riding. Not that I'm trying to change your mind, but just a little tid bit.

For those that have tried um’, you know Spotted Owls are pretty gamey tasting except for that little piece right behind the neck. It’s a hassle, but to fill up on good eaten’, you’ve got to carve out the good section of at least a dozen birds and toss the rest.
