Hey guys. I'm setting up to get another ride and I'm mostly considering a Fox body Mustang.

I've never driven one but I did own a 99 Cobra... I have fond memories of that car, except for how hard it was to fit my giant legs between the steering wheel and pedals.

Anyone driven both and can compare? Did the Fox's have more room for the driver's legs, or (how could people even drive it if it had) less?

From what I remember, the Fox bodies were a little more open down there. Not as much crap crammed in there.

one of my friends is 6'5" and over 300 pounds.. he looks kinda goofy in his 89 Mustang notchback, but he claims to be comfortable in the car.

That's good to know. The problem I've had with most cars is that they're designed for someone my height but with shorter legs/legs with more angles. My E36 was the only 'sporty' car I've ever had where my thighs weren't part of the steering system :[

My 86 seemed to have all sorts of room

The tilt wheel went away when the airbag was introduced. The airbag-equipped ones have the wheel pretty high, so there should be plenty of clearance. Some also extend the seat rails to get some more room...

I have been driving an 86 for the last month. I put about 3000 miles on it so far without any issues. I am 6'1" and I weight about 275ish...

The clutch isn't the greatest action, but it's fun to drive and I have lots of room in the foot box.

Just for kicks, what are your inseams? Sounds like it's got plenty of room though. Thanks for the help.

Keep in mind they do sell modified seat rails which place the seat back several inches...

That might help. In my '99, I put the seat all the way back against the rear seat
