It means it absorbs heat and gets colder during the chemical reaction, as opposed to "exothermic", meaning it gets hot.

I don't care what kind of gas mileage it gets, and I don't want to be able to see out the back. That thing looks like my favourite toy cars when I was a kid, and that's all that matters.

Hell, back in the '80s we were all supposed to be driving cars like that in "the future". It's about time.
