What motor? If it's the 1.9 DOHC get it, fix the clutch with a strong clutch, and boost the hell out of it.

Search youtube for "turbo saturn" you'll see why.

seems like if it has 4 wheels, you will own it, so try it out. If you like it, drive it till it dies and fix it again. If you do not, Drive it like you hate it and when it brakes, sell it for scrap.

    I'm just sayin

Hey its got the best pricetag=FREE. The mileage is a little high but oh well. The twin cam's are pretty fun to drive, get decent mileage and you can tweak the suspension a little bit. Sounds like a winner to me..

I currently share an SL2 with my girlfriend...its a pretty stout little car. we beat on it pretty well, and it just takes it. just replaced the struts myself...4 hours labor and 250 bucks, whereas the shop wanted 600 just to do the rears.

    (WTF?

At free, how can you go wrong? Lets say you drop $500 into getting it running plus some extra love. At any time when you are done with it you should easily be able to unbolt $500 off the car.

At $50 per part you would need to move 10 parts.
I bet in one day (before the junk yard) you could pull the plastic door and fender skins, outside mirrors, taillight and headlights. Add in a few other parts and you are making a profit, not to mention the scap value of the shell. These cars come apart pretty easy.

In my experience, a FREE car means a $1000 car to get it on the road, minimum.

Kid, Have you looked into this Sentra?

    http://cleveland.craigslist.org/cto/1053659829.html

The ad is vauge about what the drivability/clutch issues are but at 104k miles there should be a ton of life left and great mpg.

not really. I've done 4-5 of them over the years - they take about 5 hours on jackstands - faster with a lift.
