So I got an alignment on the Capri and have 4 new Kumho Ecsta AST's in 195-50-15 on the car I know those aren't sticky rubber, but its my DD. What would you set the tire pressures at? The temp is expected to be in the mid 60's. Also anyone know if exhaust upgrades are legal? I'm lookin to get an exhaust, but would like to see what mods are legal for g-stock.

Cat-back is legal in AS through GS

I'd start at 36psi and see what happens. Tire pressure varies from car to car, tire to tire, surface to surface, and condition to condition.

Your going to want to take those AST's back ASAP, I've never heard a lot of good about them.

My friends that are heavily into drifting hate them. The 195/50/15s and 205/50/15's used to be SUPER cheap so a few people ran them, but they weren't that great. Like a meh amount of traction and smoke. They were pretty durable but not that great.

They also SUCK in the rain, especially after the giant tread blocks loose their 2 sipes. Snow? forget about it. And for the people that love them and give awesome reviews. Yeah I'm sure they are better then your 60 or 65 series side wall dry rotted bald POS's you had before. But not compared to another new tire.

I love kumho tires, but I'd never waste my money buying an AST,ASX or SPT, there are far better tires out now.....

I loved my Kumho 712's, when they got replaced by the SPT's I bought a set. They were not great tires. Lousy treadwear & so-so grip. I'm on to Conti's ExtremeContact DWS.

Most manufacturers, car and tire, suggest adding 4psi for high speed and heavy loads. So use that as a starting point.

I loved my Kuhmo AST's. They rode nice, stopped well, and I thought they did great in the snow and rain. Although here in Kentucky we don't get much snow in the winter, although last winter we got more than usual.

I thought they suited my DD qutie well. Had decent grip when I needed it, weren't too soft either.

Also, my car is FWD which may have had an influence on my wet/snow performance as well.

The ASX is a great rain tire (from what a couple people have said at least), for a street car in that size i would (and did) get BFG g-force sports instead though.
