I was poking around online today and ran into these... and this video.

Really cool video, and really neat product, but it seems that a single clamp costs about $3.00. I'm assuming it's a one time use thing, which makes these very non-economical.

If they were $0.50 a pop I think I'd buy a whole bunch of them.

Looks like they are just really thick heat shrink.

nice... understandable for a truck that runs thousands of miles a week... want as little down time as possible... but i'd rather the constant tension clamps most of the time...

I like the constant tension ones myself. These do seem like a good idea on a severe duty vehicle, and I could see these becoming the standard on cars at some point if they could come up with a way to install them with robots in a matter of seconds.

Those clamps are oem already on some vehicles...mostly for stuff that's not supposed to come apart like inline water valves on heater hoses and T fittings for bleeding, that sort of thing.

Is there an easy way to remove them without damaging the hose? I imagine you'd have to be pretty careful.
