Would an LS power steering pump work with a Miata steering rack, or would it mess up the feel? It would be easier to keep the GM pump on the LS engine in my Challenge car, rather than fab a bracket and use a Miata one. I'm ASSuming the GM pump puts out a higher flow, but I know nothing about power steering systems.

Did the car the engine came from have a rack or box ? From what I have learned the box uses a higher pressure than the rack. I think it should be fine. My chevy LT1 pump powered my 240sx rack just fine.
If needed, could you use one of the power steering adjust valves? Hrm, was it Tilton? Heidt's!

The engine is out of a 2003 Chevy Trailblazer EXT , so it was attached to a rack.

That's kinda neat, but not budget worthy for a Challenge car. Maybe usable post Challenge if I autocross the car.
FM uses a resistor in their PS setup and it felt great. https://www.flyinmiata.com/cts-v-adaptor-restrictor.html
The only other option is either an overboosted rack or loop the line for the challenge and forget PS.
Maybe I'll see what it takes to fit a Miata pump. That will involve a new bracket, pulley and possibly rerouting the accessory belt. The Challenge is aptly named.
