Anyone replaced an inner tie rod end on an 80s-era GM/Saginaw rack? PITA or easy-peasy? Looks like a special tool (available from a parts store) is needed. It's for a Saab 900, but the Saab forum says "replace the whole rack," which is about as much fun as sticking your hand in a blender, not to mention a helluva lot more $$.

You replace the rack because most people don't know or what to fool with the inner tie rod tool. The only thing that sucks about ITR's is the boot.
