(yeah just noticed.... I know Univers-i-ty. I'll blame it on the lack of sleep, and if you've been in FSAE you know what I'm talking about!)
I'll just start out with this....
and keep adding pics and some commentary as necessary.
Me? I'm the powertrain team lead for our team.
that's me on the left. Our engine blew at 3AM the DAY OF COMP and we managed to make it to MIS by 8am and have a tech-ed and running car the same day.
The F4i dyno motor that we ran the car with proved to be up to the task even after the hundreds of hours I've spent torturing it. It still lays down the power over and over and here's the proof.
that was shortly after a 4.15 accel run on sticker tires with no practice time in the car. A couple of us ran back to school to cut, sleeve, and weld an old axle to length. This would have gotten us by had we not left the CV joint behind.... We missed the autocross because of that but still managed to finish and finish well. We're still waiting on the official endurance and overall scores.

That's right, PVC pipe, wood, gobs of bondo, lots of silicone, EMT conduit for exhuast, zipties and a ratchet strap to make sure it wouldn't vibrate off. You can call it hack all you want but it made 77hp and 46 ft-lb off the sprocket :D
