GRM Marketing director and all-around nice guy Andy Reid just sent me some photos from the Chicago Auto Show. They're also on our Facebook page, but I didn't want the message board to be left out.

The Charger got a dose of GT-R, and looks better for it if you ask me.

Hyundai has big things planned for the Veloster. I sure hope we see an AWD version at the consumer level.

The Fiat 500 is coming to America...still. I'll be more excited when I see one on the street, but it's hard not to like such a cute little car.

    The Porsche Speedster is pretty...

    But the pricetag isn't.

Did anybody else make it out to this show? Thoughts? Opinions?

Down the street (RT.1 Norwood, MA) from the office a Fiat sign has gone up in place of the now defunct Saturn dealership sign, right across the street from Chrysler of course.

I would like to drive a 500 when they finally make it over, sounds like a fun ride.

Most of those were at the Detroit Show.
The Fuchs are cool to see again on a Porsche.
The darn-near-white leather wheel on the Fiat looked to be way too white to me for something that will get handled every day.

Does Mazda have the same track preped version of the Mazda2 and Miata in Chicago that they had in Detroit?

Today is media preview day, tomorrow is the charity ($$$) event, then it opens to the rest of us schlubs on the 11th. I try to go on weekdays - weekends at the chicago auto show are like hanging out with your closest 250,000 friends

    In reply to oldtin:

I used to do the same at the Detroit show. The big auto show circuit doesn't usually get close to Daytona, so I haven't been since 2006 or so. Still, it was always a good time and made me want something.

Usually it was a car that I wanted, but there were exceptions at some displays.

I hope to go over the weekend. I had some Porsche Social Media Pass sent to me that is on Thursday (tomorrow) that I can't use.

I have attended this car show most every year since 1975. The crowds wear me down and I try to avoid the weekend but this year I have no choice.

Well the ZL1 Camaro is all-new, that'd be cool!

In Detroit, Ferrari had the best "something" offered by the car manufacturers.

Thanks. I don't do the Facetubes.......

BTW, here's video of the veloster in action http://jalopnik.com/#!5755909/hyundai-veloster-rally-cars-a-500-hp-awd-korean-cage...

I like the new rear end treatment as well.

Do all new cars have to look like someone who just sucked on a lemon?

I think it (Charger) looks BAMF! Did it go on a diet or is that just creative design? it looks a little smaller (a good thing!) but its hard to tell with a 27369 foot tall backdrop to compare it to lol

Yeah, it looks like the GT-R sedan Nissan doesn't make. I can dig it- it looks better than the regular Chargers at least.

After having been to a black tie version of the auto show 10 years ago it's just not the same being lumped in with all the paupers.

A side note to anyone planning on attending the Motorcycle show: DO NOT GO. GIANT waste of time/money. The coolest manufacturers (IMO) didn't even make it out (BMW, Aprilia, and KTM)

Sorry, I think the front end treatment is horrid. It looks like the car is yawning.

I do like the tail lights though

As for the Fiat 500, a truck load of 15 are already at a dealership in Milwaukee; all manuals. 8 are not spoken for yet.
