Would love to see some photos of yours, Tony. Weird, old, Euro saloons are a favourite of mine.

I tried posting pics here but I guess they don't fit the required parameters and don't have time to edit them. See if you can get to these: http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.101795299831029.3523.100000016783240&...

That one on craigslist looks pretty nice. I hate it when people destroy rare cars in good condition by using them in Lemons races though, there are plenty of more common cars that would be great for that.

Funny this topic should resurface. I came across this listing yesterday while looking for something else. Automatic in Detroit.

The point of it was that it was uncommon. Only one has gone to Lemons and I would much rather see it on a track than in the jaws of the crusher. Which honestly is the other option at that point.

According to Wiki they used Chrysler automatic transmissions so maybe a modern Hemi would fit instead of a boring old LSx swap.

Personally I don't find the lines of the car all that attractive but the interior looks nice.

Here's one close to me. Only needs a fuel pump... and a transmission...and, well, you know. Link to Italian project car hell

Those are a lot cheaper than i would expect them to be, I hope I can still find one in a year or so when I have more money to spend on it. Either that or a citroen sm, but those usually cost a lot more, and are a bit more complicated.

I have a 1982 Quattroporte III. I have owned it for the last 12 years. Pretty reliable car. I drove it every day for about a year when my lease expired on a new car and I could not find anything new I liked. Never had any engine trouble. Never left me stranded. There are occasionally some very minor electrical stuff (horn stopped working and had to replace the oil temp sensor), but overall it has been a good car. It is far more reliable and nothing like a BiTurbo, a car which should be avoided unless your in Europe and buy one from the 1990's model years. Remember these are Italian cars and I have never encountered one that did not require some tinkering. Parts are EXPENSIVE. Like insane ($2000+ in parts alone for front shocks), so buy on that you do not have to restore, otherwise you might find yourself in a money pit.

I initially read that plate as "RUN-AWY". I thought it was refreshingly honest.
