There's a fresh new project car update on the site. Per must be going night blind, because the Hellas on the Impreza wagon are the next best thing to white phosphorous flares.

I'd love to replace the WRX fogs with some Hella goodness.

I may have the rarest Hella lamps ever made......
Dynamic Energy 2000... the lamps that became the projector lamps in BMWs.......
the cut off is so sharp... you could draw a line based on it

How about some pictures of the mounts? Please.
I am trying to figure out how to mount two Hella 700FF and two 100W Bosch's on my 97 Outback and need some ideas.

I have two Hella 3000 lights (one driving, one euro beam) and two Hella 4000 (euro beam) lights in the garage. All are a 9.5" reflector. I really really really want to put them on the rally Miata. I even have the mount designed in my head. All I need is the time to put my cunning plan into action...
I used to have to two 3000s on my street Miata. Combined with 130W high beams, they'd put out enough light that I started to worry about photon drag.

I had some DE2000s on two cars until I lost them to an accident. BEST lights I ever owned. Shame hella does not produce them anymore

Here is mine. Mounted on 8mm flat stock (old part of garage door opener) double bolted through bumber (steel part). Are they blocking too much of the rad? Let me know what you think.
Wiring - I know that typically you splice into the high beam wire to comply with the requirement for them to go out by turning off the high beams, but I was wondering about the fogs (Bosch lights hiding under the Ford covers). If you are running in fog or snow it would be advantageous to be able to run them. Someone I know mentioned one time to put them on a DPDT (or SPDT) switch so you could operate them independantly. Good idea?

I'd just hijack the wiring for the factory "fog" lights, which are pretty much useless anyhow. Or throw in another relay and have them triggered by the factory fog light wiring.

I have been using this:
http://www.rallylights.com/hella/AuxLampWiring.aspx
I guess what I was looking for was not clear. I want to use the fogs with my highbeams for Navigational rallies, but I also want to be able to switch them independently if faced with fog or snow. Using the high beams works, but a 3 posotion switch would seem work best. 1. Triggered by HBs, 2. off, 3. Switched 12V source. Then they could be made to work with LBs. I was wondering if anyone had experience doing it this way.
Keith's option is worth considering. but the factory fogs in Canada drop out when you hit the HBs. We cannot legally have more than 4 filaments active at one time. (I don't know if the U.S. is the same?)

No experience in doing it that way, but it wouldn't be that hard to set up. It might be easier just to have a separate on-off switch, as tying them to the LB/HB logic seems unnecessary.
